Investing.com - Output in the UK manufacturing sector fell 0.1% in March, according to figures published on Thursday by the Office for National Statistics.
The consensus expectation had been for a decline of 0.2%.
On an annualized basis, manufacturing production rose 2.9% in March.
That was in line with forecasts.
In February, manufacturing production rose 2.5% from the year before.
Industrial production rose 0.1% in March, compared with the previous month, in line with the consensus forecast.
Year-on-year, industrial production rose 2.9% in March.
Analysts were looking for a 3.1% advance.
The reading came after a 2.1% rise in February that was revised down from initial growth of 2.2%.
