LONDON (Reuters) - British new car sales fell by between 6 and 7 percent year-on-year in August, according to preliminary data released by an industry body on Tuesday.
New car registrations have fallen year-on-year in April, May, June and July, the longest run of declines since 2011, according to data from the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT).
The SMMT will publish full data for the month of August at 0800 GMT.
