Investing.com - Britain’s annual economic growth for the first quarter went unrevised, according to figures released by the Office for National Statistics on Friday.
GDP grew by 1.2% on a year-to-year basis in the quarter, unchanged from the preliminary estimate and in line with expectations.
On a quarterly basis, growth came in at 0.1%, which was also in line with expectations for no change from the preliminary reading.
However, business investment in the first quarter was revised down to annual growth of 2.0% from the prior 2.6%.
That was worse than the expected downward revision to 2.4%.
On a quarterly basis, business investment contracted 0.2%, compared to the 0.3% growth initially estimated.
Analysts were looking for a slight downward revision to 0.2%.
