Investing.com – U.S. housing starts rose much more than than expected in October while building permits also rose.
The Commerce Department said Thursday housing starts rose 25.5% to 1.323 mn units from September.
Analysts had expected a rise of 7.0% in housing starts to 1.156 mn units.
Building permits rose 0.3% to 1.229 mn units vs. forecast fall of 2.9% to 1.198 mn.
