Investing.com - Sales of newly built U.S. homes rose in December according to data released on Wednesday, rounding out 2015 with solid growth.
Purchases of new single-family homes increased 10.8% to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 544,000 last month, the Commerce Department said.
Analysts had expected an increase of 2.0% to 500,000.
November's sales pace was revised up to 491,000 from an earlier estimate of 490,000.
Sales of newly built homes account for approximately 10% of the U.S. housing market.
