Investing.com –The number of people filing for unemployment assistance in the U.S. last week rose more than expected.
Initial jobless claims rose by 10,000 to 268,000, the Labor Department said Thursday.
Economists had expected claims to rise by 8,000 to 267,000 last week.
The number of claims the previous week was revised up by 1,000 to 258,000.
Claims have remained below the 300,000 mark, which is associated with strong labor market conditions, for 69 weeks.
