Investing.com - Activity in the U.S. manufacturing sector expanded more than expected in January, preliminary data showed Tuesday.
Research group Markit said that its flash manufacturing PMI rose to 55.1 in January from 54.3 in December.
Analysts had expected only a slight increase to 54.5.
A reading above 50.0 indicates expansion, one below contraction.
