Investing.com - The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits rose more than expected.
Initial jobless claims rose 22,000 from the previous week to 259,000, the Labor Department said.
The previous week's figure was revised to 237,000 from 234,000.
Economists had expected jobless claims to rise to 247,000.
The figures still point to sustained strength in the labor market.
