Investing.com - The number of Americans filing for unemployment benefits fell in the past week from an upward revision of the prior week.
Initial jobless claims were down 10,000 from the previous week at 245,000, the Labor Department said.
The previous week's figure was revised to 255,000 from 248,000.
Economists had expected jobless claims to fall to 240,000.
The figures showed the ongoing strength of the labor market.
