Investing.com - U.S. new home sales fell in May, dampening optimism over the health of the housing market.
New home sales fell by 6.0% to 551,000 units, the Commerce Department said.
Analysts had expected an 8.7% decline from April's initial reading.
April's figure was revised to show a 12.3% increase to 586,000 units, from the prior 16.6% jump to 619,000 units.
