Investing.com - U.S. retail sales in April rose less than expected, data Friday showed.
Sales rose 0.4% in April from the previous month, the Commerce Department said.
Sales in March revised to gain of 0.1% from an initial reading of a fall of 0.2%.
Economists forecast a rise of 0.6% in April sales.
Core retail sales rose 0.3% against a forecast rise of 0.5% and a revised reading of 0.3% in March.
The March core sales figure was revised from an initial reading of 0.0%.
