Investing.com – U.S. housing starts and building permits unexpectedly fell in April.
The Commerce Department said Tuesday housing starts fell 2.6% to 1.172 mn units from March.
Analysts had expected housing starts to rise 3.7% to 1.260 mn units.
Building permits fell 2.5% to 1.229 mn units vs. forecast 0.2% rise to 1.270 mn.
