Investing.com – The unemployment rate in Switzerland rose in line with market expectations in December, official data showed on Monday.
In a report, the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs said the rate of unemployment rose to a seasonally adjusted 3.1% from 3.0% in November, matching market expectations.
According to the report, the total number of unemployed people in Switzerland rose by 8,025 in December to 185,706.
Following the data, the Swiss franc was up against the U.S. dollar, with USD/CHF shedding 0.2% to hit 0.9532.
