Investing.com – Retail sales in Switzerland declined unexpectedly in March, official data showed on Monday.
In a report, Switzerland’s Federal Statistical Office said that retail sales fell by an annual rate of 0.2% in March, after jumping by 1.8% in February, whose figure was upwardly revised from 1.5%.
Analysts had expected retail sales to increase at annual rate of 2.3% in March.
Following the release of the data, the Swiss franc was down against the U.S. dollar, with USD/CHF gaining 0.41% to hit 0.8689.
