Investing.com - Switzerland's producer price index fell unexpectedly in January, declining for the first time in three months, official data showed on Wednesday.
The Swiss Federal Statistical Office said its producer price index inched down by a seasonally adjusted 0.1% in January, confounding expectations for a 0.3% increase.
Swiss producer prices rose 0.1% in December.
Year-over-year, the producer price index advanced at an annualized rate of 0.8% in January, compared to expectations for a 1% increase, after rising at a rate of 1% in December.
Following the release of the data, the Swiss franc was little changed against the U.S. dollar, with USD/CHF adding 0.01% to trade at 0.9173.
