Investing.com - The S&P/Case-Shiller home price index rose more-than-expected in October, increasing for the seventh consecutive month, industry data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, Standard & Poor’s with Case-Shiller said its house price index rose at an annualized rate of 4.3% in October from a year earlier, above expectations for a 4% increase.
U.S. home prices in September rose by an unrevised 3.0%.
Month-on-month, U.S. home prices rose 0.7%, above expectations for a 0.5% increase, after rising by 0.4% in the preceding month.
Following the release of the data, the U.S. dollar remained lower against the euro, with EUR/USD adding 0.09% to trade at 1.3205.
Meanwhile, U.S. stock index futures remained little changed. The Dow Jones Industrial Average futures pointed to a gain of 0.1%, S&P 500 futures indicated a rise of 0.1%, while the Nasdaq 100 futures signaled a flat open.
