CANCUN, Mexico, March 22 (Reuters) - Chinese central bank governor Zhou Xiaochuan said on Monday "too much noise" over the yuan's exchange rate was not helpful.
Zhou Xiaochuan, head of the People's Bank of China, said while U.S. policymakers are under pressure to lower unemployment, China also faces a "tremendous task to create jobs."
"You know this is very complicated," Zhou said on the sidelines of an annual meeting of the Inter-American Development Bank in Cancun, Mexico. "We can discuss on this issue what kind of global policy coordination ... but we don't think too much noise" is helpful.
Zhou also said policy decision making should be "based on sound economic analysis" and "also consider bilateral interest." (Editing by Jeffrey Benkoe)
