Investing.com - The Philadelphia Federal Reserve's manufacturing index remained in contraction territory for a third month in February.
The manufacturing index improved to minus 2.8 from January's reading of minus 3.5.
Economists had expected the index to come in at minus 3.0.
New orders and employment fell reinforcing the view that manufacturing activity in the region is still weak.
