Investing.com – Poland stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Energy and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Warsaw, the WIG30 rose 0.67%.
The best performers of the session on the WIG30 were Grupa Lotos SA (WA:LTSP), which rose 4.49% or 1.27 points to trade at 29.55 at the close. Meanwhile, Polski Koncern Naftowy ORLEN SA (WA:PKN) added 3.84% or 2.58 points to end at 69.83 and Enea SA (WA:ENAE) was up 2.73% or 0.23 points to 8.65 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were PKP Cargo (WA:PKPP), which fell 4.16% or 1.79 points to trade at 41.25 at the close. Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) declined 3.70% or 1.57 points to end at 40.83 and Asseco Poland SA (WA:ACPP) was down 1.71% or 0.93 points to 53.43.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Warsaw Stock Exchange by 272 to 248 and 179 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eurocash SA (WA:EUR) fell to 52-week lows; falling 3.70% or 1.57 to 40.83.
Crude oil for November delivery was up 2.97% or 1.48 to $51.29 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in December rose 2.45% or 1.27 to hit $53.20 a barrel, while the December Gold contract rose 0.70% or 8.75 to trade at $1260.65 a troy ounce.
EUR/PLN was down 0.28% to 4.2740, while USD/PLN rose 0.15% to 3.8316.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.27% at 96.78.
