WASHINGTON, Jan 13 (Reuters) - U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke on Thursday called for a "more equitable commercial relationship" with China, saying that Beijing often fails to follow through on promises that it makes.
"When I talk to business leaders across America, they continue to express significant concerns -- shared by business around the world --about the commercial environment in China," Locke said in a speech ahead of Chinese President Hu Jintao's visit to Washington next week.
