Investing.com - German inflation rose in line with expectations last month, according to a report released on Thursday.
The consumer price index rose 2% last month, compared with the same month a year earlier, according to data from the Federal Statistics Office, matching the previous month’s increase.
Prices rose 0.1% from a month earlier.
Economists had expected annual inflation to increase 2% and monthly inflation to rise 0.1%.
The state readings are not harmonized to compare with other euro zone countries.
Consumer prices, harmonized to compare with other euro zone countries, rose by 1.9% from the previous year and were flat compared to the previous month.
