Investing.com - German inflation rose at a slower than expected rate last month, according to a report released on Thursday.
The consumer price index rose 1.6% last month, compared with the same month a year earlier, according to data from the Federal Statistics Office.
Prices rose 0.4% from a month earlier.
Economists had expected annual inflation to increase 1.7% and monthly inflation to rise 0.5%.
The state readings are not harmonized to compare with other euro zone countries.
Consumer prices, harmonized to compare with other euro zone countries, rose by 1.5% from the previous year and rose 0.4% from the previous month.
