Investing.com - German business confidence improved in April, according to data released on Monday.
The Munich-based Ifo institute said its business climate index rose to 112.9 this month from 112.4 in March.
Economists had expected a reading of 112.5.
The current assessment index climbed to 121.1 from 119.5 a month earlier, against expectations for a reading of 119.2.
The business expectations index, which measures attitudes toward business prospects over the next six months, ticked down to 105.2 this month from 105.7 last month, compared to estimates for a reading of 106.0.
The monthly index is based on a survey of around 7,000 German firms in the manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail sectors.
