Investing.com - German business confidence deteriorated slightly in June, according to survey data released on Monday.
The Munich-based Ifo economic institute said its business climate index, based on a monthly survey of companies, fell to 101.8 from 102.2 in May.
The reading was just below economists’ expectations for 1019.
Businesses assessed the current situation worse, with the sub-index falling to 105.1 from 106.0, compared to expectations for 105.6.
The business expectations index, which measures attitudes toward business prospects over the next six months, ticked up to 98.6 this month from 98.5 in May.
That was slightly better than estimates for a reading of 98.0.
The monthly index is based on a survey of around 7,000 German firms in the manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail sectors.
