Investing.com - Investor confidence in the euro zone for May improved less-than-expected, amid ongoing concerns over the outlook for the region’s economy, data showed on Monday.
In a report, market research group, Sentix said its index of investor confidence improved to minus 15.6 in May from a reading of minus 17.3 in April.
Analysts had expected the index to improve to minus 15.2 this month.
On the index, a level above 0.0 indicates optimism, below indicates pessimism.
Following the release of the data, the euro was little changed against the U.S. dollar, with EUR/USD easing down 0.06% to trade at 1.3111.
Meanwhile, European stock markets remained mixed. The EURO STOXX 50 dipped 0.2%, France's CAC 40 shed 0.1%, Germany's DAX added 0.1%, while London’s FTSE 100 was closed for a public holiday.
