PARIS, June 4 (Reuters) - French dairy farmers and wholesalers reached a deal overnight to fix a price for milk, ending three weeks of protests by farmers furious over a 30 percent slump in prices over the past year.
The two sides agreed to an average price of 280 euros per 1,000 litres in 2009 and also said they would put a pricing mechanism in place from 2010, the Agriculture Ministry said. (Reporting by Laure Bretton; Editing by Clarence Fernandez)
