Investing.com - Canadian wholesale sales rose significantly more-than-expected in May, official data showed on Thursday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said wholesale sales rose by 2.3% in May, compared to expectations for a 0.4% increase.
Wholesale sales for April were revised up to a 0.4% gain from a previously reported increase of 0.2%.
The increase was largely due to higher sales in the agricultural supplies industry and the food industry.
Following the release of the data, the Canadian dollar remained lower against its U.S. counterpart, with USD/CAD adding 0.05% to hit 1.0413.
