Investing.com - Canadian wholesale sales rose less-than-expected in April, official data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said wholesale sales rose by 0.2% in April, below expectations for a 1% increase.
Wholesale sales for March were revised down to a 0.1% gain from a previously reported increase of 0.3%.
The increase was mainly a result of higher sales in the computer and communications equipment and supplies industry.
Following the release of the data, the Canadian dollar remained higher against its U.S. counterpart, with USD/CAD shedding 0.16% to hit 1.0194.
