Investing.com - Canadian wholesale sales were unexpectedly flat in July, underlining concerns over the health of the economy, official data showed on Monday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said wholesale sales in July were flat, disappointing expectations for a gain of 0.8%. Wholesale sales grew 1.3% in June.
Higher sales in three subsectors, representing 52% of wholesale sales, were offset by lower sales in other subsectors.
In volume terms, wholesale sales decreased 0.4% in July.
USD/CAD was trading at 1.3197 from around 1.3205 ahead of the release of the data.
