Investing.com - Canadian wholesale sales declined unexpectedly in November, fuelling concerns over the health of the economy, official data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said wholesale sales decreased by a seasonally adjusted 0.3% in November, disappointing forecasts for a gain of 0.2%. Wholesale sales growth for October was 0.1%.
Decreases were recorded in three of seven subsectors, led by the machinery, equipment and supplies subsector, and were partially offset by higher sales in the motor vehicle and parts subsector.
USD/CAD was trading at 1.2068 from around 1.2072 ahead of the release of the data.
