Canadian retail sales rose unexpectedly last month, official data showed on Friday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said that retail sales rose to 0.50%, from 0.10% in the preceding month whose figure was revised up from -0.10%.
Analysts had expected retail sales to fall -0.10% last month.
