Investing.com - Canadian retail sales fell 0.1% in September, Statistics Canada said on Friday.
This was compared to a gain of 0.2% in the previous month, which was revised down from 0.3%.
Economists had forecast a rise of 0.3%.
Core retail sales, which excludes automobiles, decreased 0.4% in September, compared to forecasts for an increase of 0.2%.
They had gained 0.8% in August in an downward revision from an initial 0.9% advance.
