Investing.com – Canada's economy grew as expected in April, official data showed on Friday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said gross domestic product (GDP) rose 0.2% in April from a month earlier, matching expectations and compared to March’s growth of 0.5%.
After the report, which was released simultaneously with the U.S. core PCE price index, personal income and spending, USD/CAD was trading at 1.2974 from around 1.2970 ahead of the release of the data.
