Investing.com - The Canadian economy expanded in December, according to official data released on Friday.
Canada’s gross domestic product (GDP), or the broadest measure of goods and services produced in an economy, increased 0.1% in December from the previous month, Statistics Canada said.
The result was in line with economists’ expectations.
The Canadian economy grew by 0.4% in November.
Quarter-over- quarter, Canada’s economy expanded at an annualized rate of 1.7% in the fourth quarter.
That compared to expectations for annualized growth of 2.0%.
Additionally, third quarter annualized growth was revised down to 1.5% from the prior reading of 1.7%.
