Investing.com - The number of building permits issued in Canada fell to their lowest level in 18 months in November, official data showed on Tuesday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said that Canadian building permits decreased to a seasonally adjusted negative 7.7% month-over-month compared to a gain of 4.4% the prior month, which was revised from a rise of 3.5%. It was the lowest level since March 2016.
Analysts had expected Canadian building permits to fall 0.3%.
After the report, USD/CAD was trading at 1.2458 compared to 1.2449 before.
