Investing.com - Canada's trade deficit widened unexpectedly in November, as exports grew 0.1% and imports rose 0.5%, official data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said that Canada’s trade deficit was C$640 million last month, compared to a deficit of C$330 million in October, whose figure was revised from a previously reported surplus of C$100 million.
Analysts had expected Canada to post a trade deficit of C$200 million in November.
Canada's merchandise exports edged up 0.1% to C$44.9 billion and imports increased 0.5% to C$44.8 billion in November.
USD/CAD was trading at 1.1843 from around 1.1836 ahead of the release of the data.
