Investing.com - Canadian manufacturing sales rose less-than-expected in May, official data showed on Tuesday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said that manufacturing sales increased by a seasonally adjusted 0.7% in May, below expectations for a 1% increase.
Manufacturing sales for April were revised to a 2.1% decline from a previously reported drop of 2.4%.
Sales were up in 11 of 21 industries, representing about 57% of the manufacturing sector. Sales of durable goods were up 1.3% while non-durable goods sales edged up 0.2%.
Following the release of the data, the Canadian dollar remained higher against its U.S. counterpart, with USD/CAD shedding 0.09% to hit 1.0418.
