Investing.com – Canadian manufacturing sales fell unexpectedly in November, official data showed on Wednesday.
In a report, Statistics Canada said that manufacturing sales fell by a seasonally adjusted 0.8% in November, after rising by 1.5% in October, whose figure was revised down from 1.7%.
Economists had expected manufacturing sales to rise by 0.6% in November.
According to the data, manufacturing sales in November fell to CAD44.9 billion, led by decreases in the motor vehicle and motor vehicle parts industries.
Following the release of the data, the Canadian dollar was down against its U.S. counterpart, with USD/CAD rising 0.14% to hit 0.9926.
