TOKYO, June 23 (Reuters) - Japan's Nikkei average fell 1.2 percent on Tuesday, pulling back further from 8-month highs hit earlier in June, with resource-linked shares such as Showa Shell losing ground after oil prices slid the previous day.
The Nikkei lost 114.18 points to 9,712.09. The benchmark has taken a breather after hitting an 8-month intraday high of 10,170.82 on June 12.
The broader Topix fell 1.8 percent to 906.36. (Reporting by Masayuki Kitano)
