Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Financials and Food sectors led shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 0.76%.
The best performers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which rose 9.75% or 0.0780 points to trade at 0.8780 at the close. Meanwhile, Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 8.44% or 0.2000 points to end at 2.5700 and Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) was up 6.62% or 0.041 points to 0.660 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which fell 13.28% or 0.017 points to trade at 0.111 at the close. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 8.30% or 0.038 points to end at 0.420 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was down 7.46% or 0.044 points to 0.546.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 48 to 33 and 16 ended unchanged.
Gold for December delivery was down 0.41% or 5.40 to $1326.10 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.08% or 0.92 to hit $43.27 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 1.87% or 0.86 to trade at $45.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.02% to 1.0974, while EUR/GBP fell 0.21% to 0.8362.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.04% at 97.45.
