Bitcoin payments will soon be possible through your internet browser -- at least according to the plans of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the main international body responsible for developing standards and protocols for the internet.
Published e-mail correspondence between prominent Lightning Network developer Dr. Christian Decker and crypto-supporter René Pickhardt confirm that Dr. Decker is has become a member of the WC3 consortium, albeit a ‘not very active’ one.
...“I can see that they have bitcoin somewhat on their mind. But I guess it would be even cooler if we could make sure that lightning payments will also be compatible with their recommendation,” said Pickhardt in an email.
