  • A new token — Will Smith Inu — emerged after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock.
  • WSI traded with huge sellouts on the Uniswap decentralized exchange.
  • The incident happened during the 94th Oscar awards at Dolby Theatre.

After the incident between Will Smith and Chris Rock yesterday at the Oscars, a new meme token named Will Smith Inu (WSI) emerged on UniSwap exchange and a few other decentralized exchanges.

Other than the token, an NFT— Will Smith Slap DAO on the OpenSea platform — also made headlines. There was a huge sale for this NFT and nearly 730 NFTs were sold out for over $7 to $300.

As of now, WSI trades at $0.000000456 and volume of more than $1.9 million. Additionally, the token is surging up around 529.6%.

Will Smith had slapped comedian Chris Rock at the Oscar Awards held at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Monday. Chris had made fun of Smith’s wife Jada Pinkett Smith, pointing out her shaved head.

However, Will Smith apologized to Chris Rock after the Academy Awards ceremony. He said, “I would like to publicly apologize to you, Chris. I was out of line and I was wrong.” He also added that jokes are a part of a comedian’s job, but a joke about Jada’s medical condition was unbearable and that is why he reacted emotionally toward it.

By now, the video of the slap has gone viral. It came as a surprise to many as Will Smith is generally a kind and calm person. And although Chris looked startled after the slap, he told the audience that it was the greatest night in the history of television.
