Venezuela posted another record month for LocalBitcoins activity, while the country is passing through mass protests against the regime of Nicolas Maduro. The country’s citizens have attempted to bypass the inflationary pressures of the past few years.
In April, LocalBitcoins saw trading for more than 37 billion Venezuelan bolivars, or around $3.7 million. Activity for the OTC and peer-to-peer service remains high for other Latin American countries, including Chile, Peru, Argentina, and Brazil.
