Due to the fact that people are accustomed to what they expect on Black Friday, few of them bat an eyelash when a company announces that it’s offering an otherwise outlandish discount on a particular product.
It turns out that some enterprising scammers took things up a notch and made their own Black Friday-themed scheme involving cryptocurrency. Last evening, several customers of Uphold—a growing cryptocurrency exchange and payment service—received an email that appeared to come from the company, offering a 15% discount on Bitcoin.
The Basic Attention Token team caught wind of this and posted a warning on Reddit, presenting screenshots of the email.
