Eugenio Ynion Jr., who owns the blockchain-based, end-to-end shipping and logistics platform called XLOG, has a simple dream for himself but a massive ambition for humanity. He wants to create a million jobs with his blockchain project. According to Ynion, who also founded and is the CEO of Shiptek, once he achieves this dream, then he can face his Creator and say, “Lord, I have fulfilled my promise to you.”
He stated: "I had this vision in 2006, my business was down, and I was so poor that I don't even have money to buy diapers for my kids. My taxi business went bankrupt. So I prayed and told the Lord to please give me another chance, and I promised Him that I will do my best to repay you by giving back to those who are in need."
Surprisingly, Ynion said that after only a few days when he made that promise, opportunities began coming his way, and business has been good ever since.
In fulfilling his promises, Ynion has never failed to give 10% of his personal and company earnings as his tithe. He set up the Sabak Foundation to improve the lives of his community and uplifted the lives of those he could touch. However, he still felt he was not doing enough as he has yet to create the one million jobs he promised the Lord in 2006.
He went on to say:
“If you will look at the mission and vision of XLOG, it’s really about creating a million jobs. And that was like 2006 when my company was not doing fine. The mission to create one million jobs entered my mind way back in 2006. But I have failed miserably as of now. There were only about 350 jobs in my company, Shiptek.”
Birth of XLOG
His failure to fulfill his dream, Ynion said this almost made him depressed as he tried to find ways to make it a reality. Then he met a neighbor who is into IT (information technology) and programming.
“It was like something that was heaven-sent. One morning I was walking along the community when I came across one of my neighbors and introduced himself as an IT guy. So I told him that I am actually looking for an IT person because I have this idea about a blockchain project that aims to disrupt my own business but will eventually get things going for that elusive one million jobs,” he added.
Thus XLOG was born, an online platform on the blockchain that is focused on shipping and logistics that will revolutionize industries while providing transparent transactions and eliminate opportunities for shady deals.
During its launch, Ynion explained that one of the primary goals of XLOG is to bring “shipping and logistics into the digital age by creating an online marketplace for both companies that offer and companies that require such services.”
Consolidating all these industries in a single platform is the answer to his dream of one million jobs in addition to allowing a simplified process, efficient tracking and security, and ease of transaction documentation. He envisions XLOG to be the Traveloka, Uber and Grab versions of the shipping and logistics industries that could spur tremendous job opportunities because the online marketplace will create demand for warehousing, trucking, shipping, containerized services, etc.
