The mayor of South Korea’s capital Seoul is embarking on an ambitious plan to promote blockchain technology with a multi-million dollar (multi-billion won) fund and business complex to develop talent in the sector, various media reported.
Speaking in Zug, Switzerland on Thursday, Seoul Mayor Park Won-soon rolled out his five-year plan to encourage blockchain-use in the city among industries, including the establishment of businesses complexes and an $88.62 million blockchain fund (100 billion won). The mayor is on an 11-day trip to Estonia, Spain, and Switzerland that will end on Sunday.
