Polygon Introduces Blockchain-Powered Police Complaints

  • Indian police Superintendent confirms the launch of “Police complaint on the blockchain.”
  • Polygon will power this new system.
  • The “Police complaint on the blockchain” will minimize the corruption while filing FIR.

The Senior Superintendent of Police, in Firozabad, India, confirms the launch of its pilot project “Police complaint on blockchain.” On the official Twitter handle of the Firozabad police, Ashish Tiwari, an IPS officer from Firozabad, gave a snippet of the new pilot project.

He stated in the video that the new pilot project is free of cost and is based on blockchain technology. Tiwari stated that the main advantage of the technology is that the information cannot be tampered with or altered in any way.

Tiwari also mentioned that it improves the transparency of the complaints filed. Tiwari also mentioned that the portal will allow users to easily scan a QR code and file a complaint.

One of the key features of this portal mentioned by Tiwari is that it allows transparency into who is assigned to the complaint. The complaints also have a deadline of seven days within which they will be resolved.

While tweeting about this news, Sandeep Nailwal, founder of Polygon, stated that this project is very close to his heart.

Nailwal tweeted that this will help in minimizing corruption that happens in local police departments, especially in the cases of rape victims who are unable to file a complaint.

This was only possible because of the efforts of Hon’ble @IpsAshish Sir, who is a visionary leader in the Indian Police Service in India, working tirelessly, going beyond the call of duty, to implement and innovate on technology to ensure equitable justice. Kudos, Sir.

Nailwal mentioned that it could be a game-changer for many to ensure they get justice.
