  • Recording Academy and Grammy Awards announced their partnership with OneOf.
  • OneOf is a music NFT platform, which raised over $60 million this year.
  • Notably, OneOf is built on the energy-efficient Tezos blockchain.

Earlier today, Recording Academy and Grammy Awards announced its partnership with the music NFT platform, OneOf. With this, NFTs on Tezos are coming to the music industry’s biggest awards.

In detail, the Grammy Awards will release an NFT series on Tezos for the 64th, 65th, and 66th Annual Grammy Awards. Moreover, this partnership with OneOf will build on previous partnerships with the iHeartRadio Music Festival as its official collectibles partner. It is important to note that renowned artists like Doja Cat and The Game have already released their NFTs on the platform, along with others who have also signed on to release NFTs through OneOf like Alesso, Charlie Puth, H.E.R., and Jacob Collier.

Co-President of the Recording Academy — Panos A. Panay, commented:

In considering an NFT partner, we were committed to working with a like-minded organization that had an artist-first approach and we have undoubtedly found that in OneOf. As an Academy, we are always looking for ways to help artists discover new forms of creative expression, while also creating new ways of income generation and ways for fans to interact with the artists that they love. OneOf shares that vision, and we are proud to work with a sustainable NFT company.

To clarify, OneOf is built on Tezos and as the Academy cited, one of the sustainable approaches OneOf has pursued is its energy-efficient NFTs developed on the Tezos blockchain.

In addition, OneOf is also an environmentally friendly NFT platform that is specifically designed for the music industry. Its team says that the platform doesn’t charge its artists and creator partners any minting fees to create NFTs. With that said, building on Tezos uses 2 million times less energy than other blockchain networks like Ethereum.

Co-Founder of OneOf — Lin Dai, expressed his thoughts on this, saying,

If used to their full potential, NFTs will empower the music industry in a way few other technologies ever have. It is our great honor to work with this prestigious organization to help shepherd this bright future to the industry.

Going back, the NFT collection from this partnership will feature digital collectibles and experiences that celebrate Grammy winners and nominees. More so, the collection will be unveiled in January and according to the Academy, a portion of the proceeds from the NFT sales will go to its scholarship fund.
