The NEO Smart Economy’s official Twitter account has just posted a cryptic Tweet, in Mandarin, which alludes to something happening in July. The community has been asked to stay tuned meanwhile.

A simplified translation of the poster refers to ‘one session’ and ‘three things’ in July. It may very well be pointing towards an upcoming event in July with three different announcements, but it is not entirely clear as yet.
This is not the first time the NEO team posted a message like this. In November last year, NEO Council member Malcolm Lerider posted ‘a challenge to the community’.

His Tweet was initially interpreted in several different ways and managed to create a lot of hype, pushing NEO’s price higher and leading to a bit of a frenzy. However, it later turned out to be just a precursor to the project’s official announcement regarding its development competition.
Now, with this latest Tweet, the community is beginning to draw parallels, with one poster saying, “Let’s just hope you learned from last time”, referring to the poorly managed hype frenzy which ensued.
Incidentally, in November, when the previous Tweet was sent out, NEO was trading around $28 and managed to go over $40. Today, NEO is also trading around $29, but it remains to be seen whether this Tweet has a similar effect on its price.
While good for promotional purposes, such Tweets, from NEO and other projects, have been criticized for creating ‘announcements out of announcements’, and resulting in short-lived price increases followed by dumps.
We await further details on this announcement and will keep our readers updated.
