Counter-Strike already became a gaming classic, especially within the realm of esports. The game started as a simple mod for Valve’s revolutionary Half-Life but turned out to be one of the most played video games ever.
At first, this genre didn’t seem appealing for the blockchain game creators. Developers tried more “current” genres first, such as MOBA and battle royale. However, as originality is harder to come by, it’s the turn of tactical multiplayer first-person shooters to enter the blockchain, of which Metalands is one example.
Recently, the developers announced that Metalands is finally going public. It will show the basic gunfire mechanics as well as multiplayer PvP and play-to-earn features.
Metalands is aimed to become not just a first-person shooter but an entire metaverse, where users can buy and trade bunkers, characters and weapons. Moreover, the developers promised a fully-fledged story mode as well.
